The Department of Performance and Communication Arts at St.
Lawrence University seeks a colleague for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Critical Organizational Communication position.
We seek a teacher-scholar committed to inclusive teaching in the liberal arts to expand our curriculum that emphasizes rhetoric, communication, theatre, and performance.
We welcome colleagues committed to concerns of social justice, civic engagement, and systems of power.
We look forward to collaborating with colleagues who possess strong pedagogical skills with attunement toward equity-minded teaching practices.
The teaching load is 3-3.
Position begins August 15, 2024.
The successful candidate will teach the department’s core Introduction to Communication Studies course in addition to advanced courses in the candidate’s area of specialty.
We are open to a range of topics such as (but not limited to): conflict resolution; crisis communication; anti-racist and feminist organizing; globalization; labor; leadership; power and resistance; and communication for development and social change.
Ideal candidates would also teach courses of interest to our Business in the Liberal Arts students.

We will prioritize candidates who approach these fields from a critical, qualitative perspective.

Minimum Qualifications
PhD by time of appointment, August 15, 2024; evidence of ability to develop into an excellent teacher; and evidence of the ability to develop into a strong scholar.
Preferred Qualifications
Salary Salary Range $70,500 - $76,000 annually.
The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
